Meet Daisy Book
I once began a children’s book to tell the story of Kitzie Cat and Dinky Duck, the pets we had when my children were young. The characters in that book may someday appear in my art. But for now, one of my favorite subjects is Daisy, the family dog, a Welch Corgi. Each painting of this curious, playful, and expressive dog can tell its own story.
As a grandmother reading stories with our grandchildren, I decided to produce a wordless picture book from which children could make up their own stories about Daisy. Or parents and grandparents could make up stories for the children. I hope the book, Meet Daisy, when published, will bring many hours of joy to children and parents, helping children develop creative story telling skills in the process. The imagination is so important.

The book may also help young children learn to organize their thoughts, think about the world around them, to ponder the relationship between elements of the paintings and things that may be out of sight. Watch for the book to come soon.
