Barbara Sipos is a self taught watercolor artist and photographer. She is a retired wife, mother and grandmother, living with her husband in Westminster, Colorado. As a child, Barbara learned to paint and "make" things from doll clothes to tree houses. Her mother was an amateur artist who encouraged Barbara and her sister to be expressive and creative.
Her childhood was filled with reverence for life and the wonder of God’s creation. Barbara married her first husband at the young age of 19 years. Life became busy. Barbara and her husband completed their education, both became teachers. Their family grew from 2 to 5. Barbara and her husband were blessed with a son and two daughters. When her children were young, Barbara encouraged them to learn, be creative, and enjoy life. But she had little time to pursue her desire to paint.
When her children were in high school, Barbara’s husband was tragically killed in an automobile accident. Now as the head of the household, she devoted herself to completing the job of raising her children and providing for their education. During this period, Barbara experienced the tragic untimely death of her mother – this was another monumental loss for the entire family.
As time passed, Barbara's children completed their education. After 10 years of being a widow, Barbara married a wonderful, kind and supportive man – Marty.
Now retired, Barbara is enjoying her family and the time to pursue her interests, two of which are water color painting and photography. She started to paint with watercolor a few years ago just for fun and to relax and express. Family and friends have encouraged her to share her art and photos with others. So enjoy.
